In 2007 under the 2003 BIBOB act several red light windows were closed. Most were initially used for 'house art installations' and 'designers fashion creations'.
In June 2011 some of those displays still remained though others had gone. For example Oudekerksplein 22 had become Red Light Radio and Oudezijds Achterburgwal 64 had become an ice cream shop. Several however were empty and starting to look abandoned.
